I’m here for the imperfection.
The pencil marks, the paintbrush strokes, the strong gestures. I want you to see where the pencil met the paper and feel the energy that brought that mark to life.
To me, the human touch is what makes it a piece of art.
My art ranges from impressionism to abstract. The color, size, and medium of my work varies, but no matter what I’m creating, I try to let my mark show through. Sometimes that’s the outline of a magnolia, a scribble on raw canvas, or even an intentional splatter of paint.
I currently paint out of my sun-filled studio in downtown Charleston alongside my studio mate/best friend, Charlie.
You can find us walking around Folly Beach, Colonial Lake, or Hampton Park for inspiration.
Thank you for celebrating imperfection with me.
XO,
Elizabeth Marin
